If you're looking for a nice adventure on a reasonable price, this will make for good experience, but don't expect luxury.
Loved our room. Nice and quite. We got there after dark, and going up, up, up the mountain just yourself was wild, dark and curvy. We had a blast.
Kentucky has some delightful lodges at their state parks, and Pine Mountain is no different. In the summer, it has a nice pool, and access to good golf course, but in cooler months, it's still a good experience.
That being said, it's on the old side. Everything is good, but it's not fresh. Rooms are well maintained, but small.
If you had a week you'd have something new to enjoy every day! Beautiful lodge and grounds, abundant trails, scenic look outs, pavilions galore and the most amazing views of the Appalachian Mountains. The one mile hike up to the chained rock is bewildering in that as you come back down it seems all the many endless steps are all going up - as you come down the mountain. Defies logic. Worth every burning muscle and then some.
Stayed in a very nice room in the lodge and enjoyed tasty, well prepared meals in the lodge restaurant. Views from our bedroom were beautiful. Will be back. Thank you for your great service!
The place is under renovation and probably should be offering a discount. Great place to be thought if want to be centrally located to the mountains
It's clean, quiet, and has decent food. It has easy access to the rest of the park, and is a short drive to Pineville and the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park.
